Guided Kayak Adventure: Explore the Wild Coast of the Gulf of Orosei from Cala Gonone
Introduction: Embark on an unforgettable experience, paddling through the crystal-clear waters of the Gulf of Orosei. This guided kayak tour, departing from Cala Gonone, is the perfect way to discover the majestic limestone cliffs, hidden sea caves, and secluded coves that make this coastline one of the most spectacular in the Mediterranean. Get ready to immerse yourself in a breathtaking landscape, accessible only by sea.
Tour Description
We will meet in Cala Gonone at 9:00 AM. After a brief introduction to paddling techniques and safety from our expert guide, we’ll be ready to board our kayaks and begin the adventure, heading south.
We will paddle at a relaxed pace beneath the towering cliffs that plunge into the emerald-green sea, exploring every nook and cranny and discovering small sea caves where the light creates fascinating plays on the water. Your guide will share stories and secrets of this wild and protected stretch of coast.
Our first scheduled stop will be at Cala Fuili, an enchanting beach nestled between high rock walls, which can only be reached by land via a staircase. Here, we can take a refreshing break and a first swim in its clear waters.
We will then continue our coastal exploration, searching for even more hidden corners like the small beaches of Ziu Santoru and Oddoana. These coves, often accessible only by sea, offer an intimate atmosphere and the chance to explore small sea caves directly from your kayak or by going for a swim.
Optional Visit to the Bue Marino Caves: During the tour, you will have the optional opportunity to visit the famous Grotte del Bue Marino (Sea Ox Caves). This detour requires the purchase of a separate entrance ticket and will add approximately 1.5 hours to the total duration of the tour. The guided visit inside the caves will allow you to admire stalactites, stalagmites, and underground lakes in one of Italy’s most important karst systems, once a sanctuary for the monk seal (the “sea ox”).
After our explorations and relaxing stops, we will head back to Cala Gonone, enjoying the coastal scenery once more in the afternoon light
