A short transfer takes place from the Hotel Barbagia towards the Oddoene valley.
The valley presents a unique scenario with its vineyards and olive groves set in a natural setting formed by the Supramonte mountains. Mountains which, due to their composition of calcareous rock, are colored from white to gray interspersed with reddish-brown streaks. In the Oddoene valley there is a maze of agricultural penetration roads that allow exploration of the same and at the same time to enjoy the nature and the scenarios that compose it to the fullest.The bike tour starts from the bottom of the valley near the Rio Frumeneddu which originates from the famous and spectacular gorge of Gorropu located upstream. Then you reach the natural pools and waterfalls with water so crystal clear that it is impossible to resist bathing and cooling off. Once regenerated from swimming in the pools, around 17.00 the sun begins to hide behind the mountains and the valley begins to be in the shade; this gives us the possibility to start pedaling in a fresh and pleasant way.
The tour continues with a lot of ups and downs through a dirt road that penetrates the valley. From the path it is possible to admire all the small plots with the typical vineyards of Cannonau grapes, characterized by plants grown at low heights to counteract the strong wind and interspersed with numerous olive groves, from which the finest wines and oil of the Dorgali area are produced . During the tour it will be possible to visit the country church of Buon Cammino from the 1600s built on an ancient route dating back to Roman times that went from Olbia to Cagliari, a Domus di Janas (a tomb dating back to 4000 BC where it is said the fairies still dwell today ), of the ruins of a tomb of Giants of 1500 BC. and a nuraghe that overlooks a small granite hill. During the tour there is a little adventurous surprise.

Très agréablement surpris! Accessible à tous, balade pas fatigante du tout grâce aux vélos électriques de bonne qualité. Arrêt dans un point d’eau pour baignade très jolie qui permet de se rafraîchir et de se détendre. Explications du guide de ce que l’on peut observer durant la balade et l’histoire de la vallée. Arrêt dans une bergerie traditionnelle pour un repas convivial avec des produits locaux, très bon.

What a fabulous day!
We joined Alberto and two others for a ride on his fantastic ebikes in the Oddoene valley. What a wonderful day we had! Alberto was so knowledgeable and passionate about the local area, ways of life, the history, geology, plants..you name it. The route was always interesting, with stops to see points of interest, for coffee, for a swim in the river (so beautiful and peaceful) and for a picnic lunch of local Sardinia food prepared for us by Alberto. The e-bikes were amazing, making even the roughest of tracks and toughest of hills seem easy. All in all a grwat day of exercise and exploration in good company. If we were staying longer in the area we would go again. We may come back! Highly recommended.
